Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is arguably India's largest private sector Company on key financial parameters. Energy Management
RIL has signed a 15 year heavy crude oil supply contract and a MoU with PDVSA to develop Venezuelan oil fields. In 2013-14, RIL launched one of the world’s largest petcoke gasification projects at Jamnagar to maximise value addition and provide sustainable long-term advantage, till date a record 68 MMT of crude processed at Jamnagar at 110% utilisation rate. This project has achieved 110% capacity utilisation against average utilisation rates of 85% in North America, 76% in Europe and 85% in Asia. RIL’s Jamnagar Complex has become the petroleum hub of the world and represents about 2% of global crude processing capacity.
Irrespective of the form it is used in, energy is a scarce and valuable commodity. RIL, through its energy vision ensures the deliberate practice and makes continuous attempts to save electricity, fuel oil, gas or any other conventional resource. RIL engages in multiple energy conservation initiatives with the main aim of reducing environmental pollution per unit of industrial output.
The world relies a lot on coal, oil and natural gas for its energy requirements. Renewable energy resources, such as wind and solar energy are constantly replenished. Even with a lower contribution, renewables are becoming increasingly important with every passing moment. It is for this reason RIL invests heavily on its strengths around renewable energy systems
