At this point in time, our need to lessen our dependency on foreign fuels couldn’t be any more important. Also at this time people all over the state and country are protesting and rejecting one of the biggest advancements we have made to do so. The debate is over Induced Hydraulic Fracturing or “Hydro- Fracking” which is a very necessary and involved practice of releasing in this case Natural Gas from the earth. In this practice a highly-pressurized fluid is used to flush naturally occurring fuels from fractures underneath the earth’s surface through a well and people everywhere are developing an uneducated objection to it because of the potential side effects of the fluids, in hopes to ultimately discontinue its use. This process has begun to become more popular on our home front due to the large amounts of natural gas found to be occupying the earth in many areas across the country. I personally believe we couldn’t need Hydro-Fracking more at a time like this, at least in order to further study the benefits of “fracking” for natural gas as well to determine the long term effects associated with its use.
When people on the news criticize our current president and politicians, what is it their criticizing? Our lasting involvement in the foreign affairs of oil bearing countries or is it their inability to create jobs. Or could it be the ever rising gas and fuel oil prices. All of these are things we here about on an everyday basis and only small strides have been made to improve them. Job shortages are now affecting people in all 50 states at a level we’ve never seen before as a country. Also at this time there are certain areas of the country overwhelmed by the demands of these newly developed Hydro-Fracking operations and the jobs they create. Many areas that have found natural gas deposits lack the grocery stores, gas stations, municipalities and most importantly housing to hold the rise population Hydro-Fracking brought upon the area. Think about all of the construction workers needed to build the houses, apartments, restaurants, stores etc. With these newer and larger communities locals needing employment will have countless options that weren’t there before on top of drawing more people into the area to live and work. Not even to mention the amount of jobs associated with the “fracking” itself. The economic benefits from this have the ability to reach every corner of the country and its all possible if the use and study of Hydro-Fracking continues.
Another topic often heard throughout media is the sudden rise in awareness in attempt to reduce the strain we put on our environment. Properly conducted natural gas Hydro-Fracking operations have the ability to lesson our dependency on foreign fuels by using the natural gas as a replacement. Not only is the natural gas found on our home front, it has been found to have much less of an impact on our environment as compared to oil or other fossil fuels. Effects
