Abortions have been illegal for hundreds of years but currently they are a very controversial topic. I think that we should make abortions illegal because it is killing unborn and innocent babies before they have a chance to live. This is taking away their human rights to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”, as stated in the Declaration of Independence. Not only are abortions harmful to the fetus it can also harm the mother. In the past Back Alley abortions were a problem and causing women to become injured, ill or even die. But in 1973 the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case made it possible for women to get safe and legal abortions. Even though it has become safe for women to get abortions it is still wrong and taking away the life of an innocent child.
