Barriers Case

Barriers are things that can mentally create a road block when a person has set out to complete a task of choice. Before watching the Richie Parker video, I would have defined barriers as something I feel would cause me to procrastinate before being able to create the time I need to complete my school work. After watching the Richie Parker video, my definition of a barrier has an altogether new self-definition. Barriers are mentally focused road blocks that can come between good and greatness.
Since starting school this fall of 2014, I have small barriers compared to the levels of barriers that can be define. Time would be the source of my barrier. I am taking a full load of online classes. I have a full-time job raising three children with my youngest being one year of age and the others in second grade and fourth grade and then the ordinary household duties. To some this may be nothing but for me finding the time to have one solid hour to read or focus on discussion, papers, power points, etc. seems nowhere. When I am looking at the future and see the need for this to be a priority, I need to make it happen. I have to have the persistence to make it a priority. Not having the adequate time to read and not have interruptions will result in me dropping a class or not maintain the A goal that I have for myself.
Once it was a definite that school was going to be my future, I told the family. Everyone was excited and looked forward to me going to school. In the same breathe nothing was supposed to change around the house or added help to the situation. I needed to prepare mentally and physically have a schedule down, so time was not an issue. I did reach out to an admission counselor asking if I should drop a class or two since two of my classes are fourteen-week course squeezed into eight weeks. Her response was “It depends on the student and the course, some of the eight-week course that are accurate are more doable than a class
