Benevilla is a company who serves the elderly population, people with Parkinson’s, people with memory issues, people suffering from Alzheimer’s, people with dementia, people who suffer from a stroke and people who have a disabilities. There are many different services that Benevilla offers. There are day programs for people with disabilities. They have therapy and day programs for people suffering from Parkinson’s. Benevilla has day centers for people suffering from a stroke or other illness. The day center is open 5 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. A client (we call them members) can be dropped off and left there for the day. There are different therapies and activities that take place in the day centers. Benevilla also offers programs like home delivered services. Home delivered services offers to go grocery shopping for the elderly. The elderly pays for their own food but they do all the work. They also offer rides to and from appointments and fresh food delivered to their home. Then there is Benevilla Cares program. Benevilla Cares will give members who do not get services resources on where to get services. Benevilla Cares also will go into the member’s homes and do the intake and assessments. By using volunteers, Benevilla was able to save money and help elderly who is in need. The volunteers are assigned members who they take to and from appointments. Volunteers do the shopping for the elderly at Safeway (Safeway allows Benevilla volunteers to take the items without paying for them and come back with a check). The volunteers are the Heart of Benevilla.

The participants at Benevilla home services and Benevilla Cares are the low income elderly. If we have the volunteers, we will take the elderly who are not low income. The meals program is pretty neat. The elderly have to pay for their meals that are made from fresh at Benevilla own café and then volunteers take the meals to the member’s home. Volunteers will go out into the elderly home and do simple house repairs. For example, a running toilet, changing a light bulb or fixing something small. The handyman is a volunteer and only charge for parts that may be needed. Volunteers will go into the elderly home and do intakes and assessments to see if other
