BONIA CORPORATION BERHAD
Bonia Corporation Berhad is an international luxury fashion retailer based in Malaysia. The company was founded on 28 August 1991 by Chiang Sang Sem, the Group's Executive Chairman as a private limited company under the name of Premium Fashions Sdn Bhd. On 22 June 1993, the company converted into a public limited company and changes its name to Bonia Corporation Berhad on 18 September 1993. The company was subsequently listed on the Second Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) on 23 August 1994. On 23 April 2007, the company was transferred to the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia. Bonia Corporation Berhad is primarily engaged in manufacturing of leather goods, designing, promoting and marketing of fashion products for the company’s own brands. The company owns SEMBONIA and CARLO RINO and holds the license to distribute international labels covering Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, Austin Reed, Valentino Rudy, Jeep, The Savile Row Company, Braun Buffel, Pierre Cardin, Bruno Magli, Enrico Coveri and Renoma. Bonia Corporation Berhad has a network of over 1,400 sales outlets and 170 standalone boutiques throughout the world including countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Bonia had achieved numerous awards for their products and most recently was the Putra Brand Awards in 2015 for their innovative designs, refined materials and high product’s craftsmanship.
TENAGA NASIONAL BERHAD (TNB)
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility company in Malaysia. It is also the largest power company in Southeast Asia. TNB serves million customers in Peninsular Malaysia and also Sabah through Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd. The current president of TNB is Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd. TNB has been lights on in Malaysia since it was first set up as the Central Electricity Board (CEB) that was established and starts its operation on 1 September 1949. CEB has three major projects that is first is the Connaught Bridge Power Station, second is the Cameron Highlands Hydroelectric Project and last the development of a National Grid. After that on 22 June 1965, CEB of the Federation of Malaya was renamed as the National Electricity Board of the States of Malaya (NEB). On 4 May 1988, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad announced the government’s decision on a policy of privatization. Two pieces of legislation were passed to replace the existing Electricity Act and to provide for the establishment of a new corporation. On 1 September 1990, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) was formed by the Electricity Supply Successor Company Act 1990, to succeed the National Electricity Board (NEB) of the States of Malaya. TNB then became a private company wholly-owned by the government. TNB was listed on Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) on 28 May 1992. TNB's core activities are in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. Other activities include repairing, testing and maintaining power plants, providing engineering, procurement and construction services for power plants related products, assembling and manufacturing high voltage switchgears, coal- mining and trading. TNB had also won numerous awards and recognition for their excellent achievement in the industry such as the Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards 2015 , Energy Company of the Year 2014, 72nd World’s Largest Electricity Supply Company (Top 100) in 2011 and other prestigious accolades.
