Dealth Penalty for Drug Dealing - Personal Case Study

        In the past few years ago, one of my friend his name DERIC TAN MENG MENG had killed himself because of the punishment of death penalty for drug trafficking. I knew DERIC since I was in primary and he is one of my best friend among primary and secondary school. He was so naïve and such a nice and good boy when he was at primary school stage. When he entered secondary school at the age of 15 he starts to give up on study and get bad influence by peers which slowly lead him to get involved with social problem such as vandalism, bully case and many other more of social problem. This is because when he was at the age of 14, his parent had passed away due to an accident and this caused him to get lack of family love and also attention from the elderly. By the age of 18, he started to become a drug dealer at his housing area and he became quite rich after few months then finally he gets caught by the police.

        The punishment for DERIC TAN MENG MENG for being a drug dealer was death penalty. After this happened, many of DERIC TAN MENG MENG’s friends start to feel scare and slowly quite a number of their gang disbanded. This incident showed us that non of us can touch anything regarding to drugs and make sure that if you found any drug dealer or drugs and you please report to police as soon as possible so that the drugs cannot be spread at the community. Not only that, if we know that any of our relative or friend got related to drug please give suitable advice and ask them to stop doing that. If they still stubborn to get related with drugs please report to the authorities so that all these activities can come to a stop before it is too late.

        In my own opinion, I strongly agree that the authorities should abolish the death penalty for drug trafficking in Malaysia due to several reason. First and foremost, the authorities should replace death penalty punishment to some other punishment toward drug trafficking. For instance, my friend DERIC TAN MENG MENG was given death penalty at the age of 20. So, I think that the authority should lock up him in the prison for a long period to let him to seriously think about what he had done wrong. For example, I think that the authorities should give punishment that traumatized the criminals such as lock up them forever is better than death penalty because death penalty can be settle within few second but if lock up forever then is different story.
