With all the hype in Syria it’s easy to forget about the United States’ conflict with North Korea and their infamous dictator Kim Jong-un. Obviously one American is having a blast with his buddy Kim Jong, but is it really necessary for Dennis Rodman to go hang out in North Korea when they’ve been reckless with their military threats and isolation? He tells that his new BFFL is really just a cool guy and is “ just trying to run his job.” Meanwhile we’re all thinking, “ O.K. well tell that to the impoverished and starving citizens who are forced to worship this false god, and if they don’t they get thrown in jail.” Really though, Rodman is right in a sense that we have to actually be there to understand what the so-called disreputable country is like. However through numerous attempts to document what the inside of the barren oppressed nation is like, all say the similar to the same thing. That is that, they had to turn off their cameras while they toured around in a propaganda filled bus talking about how North Korea ain’t so bad.
Relating this to our current situation and Obama’s stress over Syria, there is only so much we can think about. Putting North Korea on the back-burner may sound ok for now, but we will be very surprised if or when they do something big that threats the nations worldwide. Also some could argue Dennis Rodman is helping create trust between two historically nonnegotiable countries. However if North Korea is going to continue testing missiles, enforcing communism and control, and isolating themselves from the world, U.S.A. will never begin to form out an agreement between the two. So Dennis Rodman: You’re not really helping.
