Do Pill Bugs Prefer A Moist Environment

Introduction
Do pill bugs prefer a moist environment instead of a dry environment? The lab group will create two chambers one wet and one dry and watch and record what the pill bugs prefer. The lab group hypothesized that the pill bugs will prefer a moist environment. Pill bugs, or commonly referred to as rolly pollies are insects that can be found in shady fertile ground.
Materials
- 10 pill bugs
- 4 sheets of filter paper
- Water
- 3-way dish for containing bugs
- Pipet dropper
- Do not in any way influence their behavior

Analysis
According to the data the group collected, we see that the bugs preferred a moist environment. In the final the pill bugs preferred the moist environment 6 to 4. According to the class the pill bugs did not prefer the moist environment as much as our pill bugs did.
Conclusion
After the lab the lab group’s hypothesis was correct. The hypothesis was also supported by scientific reason because the bugs get their cellular respiration from the moister in soil do it makes sense for them to prefer a wet environment. So in the end the pill bugs did prefer the moist environment.
