For the argument to work you have to fully understand where the author is coming from. If you hear someone voicing their opinion on recycling and then you se them throw a plastic water bottle away you would consider them not staying true to there word. Therefore if you seen a environmentalist showing how to keep the earth “healthy” so to speak, like only watering your lawn once a week instead of everyday. And saying we should not have animals in factories or rose to be killed but you see them eating a big juicy hamburger, doesn’t make much sense. The issue is that even though they are trying to make the earth a better place don’t tell someone one thing and you do the other. I feel that the authors purpose is to show that although your trying to save the earth you are hurting it also and there could be different ways into going about it. The visual effect is very clear how the author feels about an environmentalist eating meat. The bold words emphasize all the key point in the picture. They yellow box is addressing the argument very well. The argument is definitely there, some people would argue and say it should matter if the environmentalist ate meat or not. He is still helping the earth in other ways. The picture shows the emotional effect by showing that the earth is being bit into like it is a piece of meat, not the thing that we live on. The major premise is an environmentalist saves the planet, the minor premise is a vegetarian tries to help keep the animals on the planet alive, so the conclusion is an environmentalist needs to be a vegetarian to help keep the animals and save the planet.
