ABSTRACT
Equal opportunity is the aggregation of policies and practices in employment and other areas that do not discriminate against persons on the basis of race, colour, age, sex, and national origin, and religion, mental or physical disability. With the laws on equal opportunity, organisations have to ensure disabled workers are treated equally at the workplace. To come to a better knowledge of the situation of disabled workers, questionnaires have been sent out to Esquel Group Mauritius. The findings attained from the respondents clearly indicate that though the organisation tries to be fair towards disabled workers, certain issues such as slack of communication and facilities remain. This was evident when the data was collected and analysed. This study clearly shows that the organisation has to equal opportunity programs, make its employees more aware of equal opportunity and communicate more with them so as to create a better working situation for these workers.
