In table 1 we can see that mostly the respondents are UMS’s female students which are 36 out of 50 respondents or 72% was female students and only 14 out of 50 respondents or 28% was male students. According to the table, most of the respondents age are between 21-23 years old which stated that 38 out of 50 respondents or 78%. For the respondents age between 18-20 years old and 24-26 years old both stated the same quantity and percentage which was 6 out of 50 respondents or 12%.
PART B : The types of Online news and Printed news selected by UMS students

This two pie chart reveals the types of online news and printed news selected by UMS students. Both show that Berita Harian and Berita Harian Online stated the highest percentage. It’s stated that 54% of UMS students read online news from Berita Harian Online and 22% of them read printed newspaper from Berita Harian. For the Online news UMS students tend to choose Metro Harian Online, News Straits Times Online, Borneo Post Online, and Utusan Malaysia as their secondary source of news which all stated 10%. While, for printed newspaper UMS students select Metro Harian as their secondary source of news which stated 20%. Therefore, most of the UMS students selected to read Berita Harian online and Berita Harian as their source of news compared to the others of online news and printed newspaper.

Table 2 and both pie chart shows that the factors that encourage UMS students read online news and printed newspaper. Factors that encourage most of the UMS students to read online news because it is easily accessible and it is stated 18 out of 50 respondents or 36% of them and second factors because online is quickly than printed newspaper which 16 out of 50 respondents or 32%. On the other hand, factors that encourage UMS students to read printed newspaper because they can know a lot of news in a day which stated 22 out of 50 respondents or 44% then, followed by trust worthy which has 13 out of 50 respondents or 26%.
