Nuclear Energy
Nuclear energy is energy stored in the nucleus of an atom that is released by an atomic reaction such as fission, fusion, or radioactivity. These atoms are the small elements that make up the world. This leads to the question, why are these small elements a huge hazard to the world and the environment? There are many dangers related to nuclear energy. Some of the many hazards are: nuclear energy is a soft target for a terrorist attack, it is environmentally hazardous, and it can create radioactive wastes.
Firstly, nuclear power plants have long been known as an expected target for terrorist attacks. The problem created through nuclear power is the risk of dangerous radioactive materials that can get in the hands of our enemies or terrorists. These dangerous materials can be used to cause a lot of damage to humans and the environment. If this gets into wrong hands, it can be used to created deadly weapons which can cause many attacks around the world.
Secondly, to create a nuclear power plant it is environmentally hazardous. The steps to creating a nuclear plant are very harmful to the environment. One of the main elements to make the plant is plutonium which contaminates the surrounding area that includes water, air, land, and etc. As a result of creating a nuclear power plant, animals, humans and other living things on earth are at risk.
Lastly, nuclear energy creates radioactive wastes which will be hazardous for the next thousands of years. This waste must be stored in a safe place with the purpose of it not to be exposed to humans and other living things that can be harmed. The place for where the waste should be stored is a very difficult problem to solve and hasn't been solves by anybody in the world. Presently, all the nuclear waste produced by humans around the world is stored in temporary sites in each country. This temporary solution cannot be acceptable in the
