Section 1
There are three underlying elements in the article. The first one is the factors of production and resources. When I read the Chapter 2, I knew that the factors and resources is not just natural resources, as well as many other things, such as human capital, creative workers, finance, physical capital, infrastructure, and knowledge capital. And after I reading this article on Forbes, I find some points for the factors and resources. Firstly, in the “Best Places for Business and Career”, the author mentioned the “employment” for several times. For example, in the first paragraph in this article, it wrote that more American people have stopped to look for a job, which caused that the unemployment decreased from 7.6% to 7.4%. And then the author also mentioned that some places with good and strong business circumstance, because of the low costs and educated labor forces. And the decrease of the unemployment, and educated labor forces all are the human capital. And secondly, in Des Moines metro area, it is about 36% of the educated labor force, which has the college degree, and the 92% of the population has the high school diploma. Thus, this population who has the high school or college diploma that accounts for the skilled labor. And then, the author also told us that Iowa’s capital city provides the higher financial services employment in the country. And the Des Moines also invested 250 million dollar to expanse the campus in downtown. So this point is considered about the finance of the factors and resources. And then, the author also mentioned the physical capital in the last paragraph of the Des Moines, such as the agriculture products, plastics, and rubber products, processed foods, machinery and chemicals. And then, in Raleigh, N.C, which has many universities in here, such as Duke, North Californian state and North Carolina. And these universities could provide many educated and young cheap labor for the jobs. And this point is also the factors and resources.
And in terms of the special and organization dimension, which means the structure of the assets and resources at one place, whether they are organized in large groups or small business. And in the reading, it said in one paragraph that the Facebook and Microsoft both invested the money in the center of the Iowa. In another words, these two companies organize together to develop the economic of this city. So this point accounts for the organization dimension.
Lastly, we discuss about the human dimension, according to the chapter 2, I think that the human dimension means that the social capital. To be exactly, the human dimension means that it could provide
