In this section, we are going to talk about a huge landform that is formed on the land and they are commonly associated with quotations, i.e. “Standing on top of the world” and many more. So, these landforms are known as Mountains. They are a large amount of land which is formed through the collision of rock underground vertically to create a great height of land mass from the sea. The top of these land masses is known as peaks. Mountains are habitats to millions of organisms which includes both flora and fauna.
They are one of God’s unique creations that actually balance the ecosystem in our planet Earth. As we talk about the uses of mountains, let’s take a look at the basic way of life associating with water. When rain starts, they fall on the nearest land and start to flow along the flow and reaches the sea eventually; which means, mountains are the source of natural mineral water as it receives natural rain water, breaks them down into smaller drops, flow them down to streams, rivers and next to the vast sea itself. Besides, the collected rain water on top of the mountain can be a natural water source for animals, plants and those people who lives around the mountain areas. Moreover, these natural water resources can be harvested and bottled into fresh mineral water to be distributed or sold; which means healthy water supply and job opportunities for people.
They are ideal for recreational parks as they are located with natural surroundings. Nature lovers can spend their time and spend their getaway from the bustling city life to get a peace for their minds. It is also a strategic location for few other people with different passions too. Wildlife photography would be a perfect activity in these areas as there are millions of organisms surrounding the area. Next bird watchers can go to a specific mountain location at a season to see birds migrate from a place to another and there might be a chance where a unique species might be abundant in a particular area during a particular season. Some might have the passion to hike on mountains to test their limits and spirits. Mount Everest is one of the most popular mountains that hikers love to put themselves on the line to measure their spirit and will power. Bungee jumpers and white water sport enthusiasts can also experience a new phase to be collected in their life at certain places.
Some mountains are not suitable for animals to live in and some are too plain due to their contents in the ground. These types of infertile land masses are often changed into mining spots to fulfil man’s need in this industrial age. Granite mining from Granite Mountains is very promising as they are profitable and the end product; granite marbles could be a beautiful crafted masterpiece that can be used to decorate an individual’s residence.
