Online care information is very important for service users and care professionals, someone who has a care need might face challenging questions like 'what is the nature of my care need?', ‘what kind of help is available?', ‘Who could I approach for help?' and ‘where do I start looking?'(K101 project). So with having all this information of the internet it would help the service user and also the person providing care.
Online care information is very accessible if you know what you're looking for, if you know very little about care services this is a good way to get a little understanding as it shows a big range of servers. It may be hard for some serves uses to get some information online if they are blind, or they even may be illiterate and to make sure you can trust the site, and also make sure you are getting all the information from the best sites such as NHS. U can find all sorts of information on care including diagnosis, help and support in and out of the home (yellow group). You can seek support from other individuals who may be going through the same thing and also get support from the online groups.
In the yellow group we was able to find a good range of information which was very trustworthily as we looked more on NHS sites as we know we can trust these sites. But some service users might not know this so this could lead a big problem as the information they might receive might not be irrelevant to what there actually looking for. There is a lot of information out there which could get confusing for some service users. Potentially this is hugely empowering. But there are dangers too. The internet is unregulated and the quality of information and advice is highly variable. Also with the vast array of websites, finding the most appropriate ones requires skill.
