The primary research design of this paper will be qualitative. Due to the type of research involved, it would be impossible to actually gather enough quantitative research, so a sampling would have to be used. While lawmakers, might seem to be the best subjects to question, constituents need to cast their opinion on this matter as well. It should be the decision of the all of the people, not just decided by a certain class of persons.
Qualitative method describes a statement, or analysis, which gives the composition of an item not the amounts present. This method involves distinctions based on qualities; "qualitative change"; "qualitative data"; "qualitative analysis determines the chemical constituents of a substance or mixture". Qualitative research is a method of inquiry employed in many different academic disciplines, traditionally in the social sciences, but also in market research and further contexts. Qualitative researchers aim to gather an in-depth understanding of human behavior and the reasons that govern such behavior.
There are several data information describing legalization of marijuana in Mississippi. The research helps investigate marijuana business in Mississippi using quantitative and qualitative methods. Level I will analyze how the medical business operates and study views on drug treatment and how medical providers may be concern with how marijuana may impact their duties. Level II will involve a assessment on epidemiology of marijuana, while Level III will evaluate the occurrence of marijuana abuse and dependence, drug use, diversion and health care. Level 3 will also include HIV assessment behaviors among medial and non-medical marijuana users.
Quantitative research design will have a comparison of data, and the opportunity to test theories. Tools such as polls, questionnaires, and computer software can be used in the research process for gathering the needed data. After the data is gathered, it can be displayed in forms such as tables and charts for a presentation of our findings. Qualitative design is used to describe life experiences like gaining insight of an individual life situation through a small interview.
The qualitative interview is observation used to research the opinion of how people felt about legalizing marijuana. The research total seven participants and out of these seven the first three where recorded interviews and four where by posting flyers at medical marijuana dispensaries. This design came be more effectively because it gives the researcher and the individual a better understanding of the different opinion about legalizing medical marijuana.
How can you most effectively use the power of both designs?
In a quantitative evaluation, evaluators develop an assumption, or hypothesis, before collecting data; the purpose of the evaluation is to determine whether that assumptions is supported
