Social institutions that can also be known as ‘Social structures’ of Sociology are one of the approaches that focuses on our family, education systems, health care services, religion, politics and social media. Each of these social structures play a part in our individuality and are assumed to be the main structures that our societies are made up of. The three-main social institutions that have played a part within my individuality are the following; family, education and health care services.

Furthermore, family is the first attachment a baby develops as soon as it is born, usually with the mother. However, a baby is more than likely born in a hospital which is a health care service. Education involves socialising with new people and learning which is firstly experienced through Reception, then nursery into school as we become older. Children are furthermore prone to ill health throughout their childhood, which often results in experiencing health care services.
