Introduction
World’s population is increasing day by day and it has become a huge aspect of concern for this entire universe. It has been estimated on 12th March 2012, total world population was 7.037 billion (WPF Dialogue of Civilizations 2012). We have made a real mess on our earth and it has become a global concern to control increasing population. Overpopulation has for sure brought with a huge list of issues and concerns such as climate changes, financial stress, global warming, peak oil, unemployment, inequality, poverty and many more things (Pianka E. 2008). There are numerous negative impacts of overpopulation and more importantly it has become a hurdle in the progressive way of any particular nation and has also become a huge problem for this entire universe. Increasing population has been considered as a major concern for global environment as more and more consumption is reducing natural resources on the Earth. If no alternate solution is found, there will be very less hope to maintain supplies of existing resources. This paper has demonstrated the impacts of increasing population on economy and natural resources.
Impacts of Overpopulation on Economy
Overpopulation has been the main reason behind the financial crisis of 2007/8, after this the issue of unemployment reached at its higher extent. As per CIA World Factbook, 2011, unemployment has become a major problem for global economy as youth unemployment stands for 23% in France, 37% in Spain and 25% in Italy. Unemployment is one of the most important factors causing to financial crisis. When such crisis occurred, there emerge an issue and serious loss of occasion for many human being and they were able to get jobs as it has been affected by the financial crisis. Overpopulation has not only affected the global economy but also many things which are necessary for the people who reside in this world. Great Agriculturist David Pimentel and Mario Giampietro have stated in their work named Food, Land, Population that according to the National Research Institute on Food and Nutrition the maximum U.S. population for a sustainable economy at 200 million.
