“The Philippines ranks seventh among nine Southeast Asian Nations in the area of education,” Guillermo M. Luz, co-chairman of the National Competitiveness Council (NCC), said. The article stated that in the primary education, the Philippines is ranked 99th out of 138 nations. We ranked 69th in the educational system, 112th in Science and Math and 76th on Internet access. As we can see, Philippine Educational System is not that good. One of the steps the government is looking in order to improve the educational system is through the K-12 Program. The K-12 Program is an educational system started by the Aquino administration. K-12 composed of kindergarten and 1st to 12th grade wherein, grade 11 and 12 is more on technical- vocational specialization. Thus, the K-12 Program will enhance the quality of education, prepare students for their future career, and improve their technical and vocational skills.
