Children and teenagers enjoy playing video game and watching movie. It is one of the most popular entertainments in America. It’s the best way to keep everybody busy if they have nothing to do, and they can also interact with friends and other people. Until the high school massacre, Columbine, took place on April 20, 1999. Journalist and politician are blaming everything on games, movies, and book that they don’t read or watch. They will make it seem as it will corrupt mind and persuades peopleto carryout criminal activities. Sure, the world of media aren’t perfect and they are not for everybody, but don’t criticize the media as primaries. Is it the fault of the parent that don’t know about their child behavior, the fault of the retail that fail to prevent minor from buying adult media product, or is it the fault of media for making product so popular for minor to buy?
How much do parent know about their children’s life? What parent seems to think they know everything about their children is only just a small proportion of their children true self. They like to believe that their children are the “innocent” one or good child. Parent can’t be able to understand about their children because they don’t pay close attention about their children behavior. Usually, teen can be in their room watching adult media without them knowing. When I was buying groceries from Wal-Mart couple of years ago, I saw 10-years old boy, asking his dad to buy him rated-M game which the dad was probably unaware of about the game content. I saw how parent can be so misleading about their child when they can into trouble. Then parent would blame the media for causing their child to act like this and use the media as a scapegoat. The only way parent can be able to understand more about their child life is to be more involved when they are not business at home.
