Advantages of the Information System for both the company and the customer: Mc Donald’s
Point of Sales (POS): Thanks to this system the worker can satisfy the customer’s order quickly and accurately. Indeed, it helps the worker remember the size of the menu and remind him of the fact that the order is take away or not. Moreover, this system records everything, so the manager can know at the end of each month the loss and profits of the restaurant, and also the number of order per day, month and year.
Transaction Processing System (TPS): Using the TPS lets the employees have more time for their customers and also makes them save time, it is faster and more accurate to enter any data.Transaction processing system also helps McDonalds in keeping track of their suppliers as it record relevant information about suppliers such as supplier name, address, quality of the items purchased and finally the invoice amount. This helps them reduce the complexity that the employees may face in physically keeping contacts with all the suppliers and so eases the process of ordering when in need.
Decision Support System (DSS): Using the DSS helps the company choose or make the right decisions based on the quality of the data. McDonald’s has used WiFi in their restaurants to gather information about customer practice and lengths of stay and sales, it is indeed a really bright idea, by using this system they can easily know how long the customers are staying, and the longer they stay the better their satisfaction. In my opinion the use of this system as a manager helps being more future oriented.
Made for You System: In this system the meal is prepared only once the customer has ordered the meal and not before, which means that while the order is being made the worker in front of the screen give out your order instantaneously to the kitchen where the chef makes the meal as soon as he sees the order so that the meal can be tastier and fresher when it arrives to the customer in a few minutes.
Hyperactive Bob System: In this system there is a use of cameras on the roof of the building that monitors the entrance of the McDonald’s restaurants. And in the parking lots also to see the number of people that are coming in the restaurant. This system is used to let the workers know how fast they need to make orders and what amount of meat, chicken, fries and other things is needed. It is also used to allow them to speculate on how many meals need to be ready at a period of time. So as to maximize customer satisfaction
