General layout of Resume -->

Resume needs to be one-pager

Assemble reverse chronologically, recent accomplishments first and education last.

Stories for Resume -->

Use STAR (Situation Task(s) Action Results) format to think about stories you want to put in. Then condense these stories into resume bullets

Use action words at the beginning of sentence such as Led, Managed, Analyzed, Designed, Proposed, Negotiated etc.

Forces you to form concise phrases instead of bloated sentences

Puts upfront emphasis on actions you took and your role in accomplishing the activity

Helps the committee to judge the skills and qualities you bring on the table from the perspective of developing into a successful business leader after attending

their place (Like Leadership, People/Resource Management, Negotiation/Communication skills, Analytical skills etc.).

Since action word is the entry point for every activity/accomplishment, it sets the context of the activity (Is it a leadership experience, Is it speaking of

analytical prowess of candidate etc.). Thus the choice of actions words should be diverse throughout the resume, else they will all sound the same.

Be specific about the activity you did (Situation and Tasks)

Avoid generic, cliched statements which can be written by almost anybody who is working in your industry/sector
