According to (Foster, 2006) parole means it is a release of a prisoner which they are supervised when they are on parole. Many prisoners that are on parole within a year they end up doing the mistake of committing crimes and as the result to that they break their parole and go to jail again. Being in parole is a privilege for the prisoner because they can make a difference in their life but as mentioned many of them relapse and find other ways in committing crimes. The difference between mandatory release and parole is that when the prisoner has served his or her two years with equal time and also had good conduct on parole and after that is on mandatory release if the guidelines are met. Some of the guidelines that the parole needs to do to be able to be on mandatory on mandatory release is report to drug testing with a parole officer, attend classes or special programs, and must have served all of their sentence with extremely good conduct. Many people have their own perspective whether prisoners go through parole may be less expensive or not. One of the recommendations that I would suggest for the current parole process is that enforces more programs to the prisoners and also have more training among the parole and probation officers. Hiring more staff and not having too many budget costs because this affects everyone including the prisoners that are eligible for parole. Many prisoners go through probation except those that committed murder, sex offenders, and robbery. Probation is when the prisoner is out of confinement but they are supervised by a probation officer. The difference from probation and other forms of sentencing is that with probation the prisoner has some sort of freedom than being confined. This type of punishment can also be split for example with a prisoner they can split his or her sentence that is only if they show that they are not risky offenders and also this helps for the prisons not to be so overcrowded.
