Introduction
The immigration issue in America has brought a serious debate among the Congress on how to fix it. A large number of people live illegally in America. Some employers have been found to be sneaking in undocumented workers into the country (Autor et al,2012). The president is seeking a comprehensive solution to help them fix the immigration system. President Obama was quoted saying that America did not raise the statue of liberty to turn then its back to the rest of the world. The President argues that America is what it is because of the immigrants, and therefore immigration issues must deal with well and with respect.
The white house
The immigration system is one of the issues that the president has been dealing with for most of his time during his second term. While the president has come up with some suggestions on how to solve the immigration problem, the opposition party has frustrated his effort to make a lasting immigration solution (Delahunty and Yoo, 2012. The president cannot make the immigration work without the help from the senate and the congress. The Republicans have made it very difficult for the immigration bill to get into the house.

It ended the immigration policy that was based on the race, ethnicity and thus giving rise to a large-scale immigration of legal and illegal persons. The current immigration crisis came up as a result of this act that was signed almost 50 years ago.
President Obama suggested four policies that will help solve the broken immigration system that is currently haunting the American government. Among the policies includes strengthening the border control. Most of the illegal immigrants are sneaking into the country through the borders (Delahunty and Yoo, 2012). The illegal immigrants can pass through the border because of lack of proper border patrol. The president suggested that the security forces should protect its borders properly to prevent the entry of the undocumented immigrants. The president proposed the need to invest in additional personnel, use of modern technology to monitor the activities going on its borders. The security forces are advised to be very vigilant on the border to help stop illegal immigrant.
