My Hero

My dad is my hero because when he lived up in Alaska he helped kids go the right direction when there was a school shooting. He was the maintenance guy at the school. He was in the teachers’ lounge talking to the art teacher. He was asking about when he was going to go and fix her sink. Then he heard a gun shot. He looked around the corner of the door. What he saw was a rifle that was pointing straight up to the ceiling. All of the kids were running and screaming.
When the kid shooter went around the hall my dad went out and gathered all of the kids that he could. He led them outside next to another building. Where they all could be safe. He went back in very carefully. He walks to the principles office and the principle was dead. He found this pregnant lady standing there not knowing what to do. So he got her to move her way outside where all of the other kids were that he brought before. When he got the pregnant lady outside he stayed with all of them so they could be safer.
He later found out that the art teacher was he was talking to earlier went up to the man and the gun, and talked him into giving up his gun. My dad says that he had a whole list of people that he wanted to shoot, but the art teacher was not on the list. So he could not shoot her. He also said that she was one of the favorite teachers in that school. He thinks that he would have felt guilty if he shot her.
There were only two people who died all together. One was the principle and another was a student that was on the list. No one else got shot. There could have been a lot of kids dead if the teacher and my dad did not do anything. My dad said that he knew that is was going to happen some day he just didn’t know when. He says it’s because everyone up in Alaska has a gun.
