My Hero

Being a hero doesn't mean having superpowers or being perfect in everyway. To me, a hero is someone who is loyal, courageous, and selfless. It is someone who would give their life to save someone they just met. A hero can also be someone who is smart, respectable, and is worthy of following. A great example of a hero would be my mother, Catherine Jean Berkley Hermesch. To me, my mother is a hero because she has many of the qualities a hero would have, such as loving, selfless, determined and hardworking.
One reason why my mother is a hero is that she is loving. She has always given my brother, sister, and I the love we needed in our childhood and she still does. She has always been kind and generous not only to me and my family, but also to the people around her. Wherever we go, she always talks to everyone around her, no matter who they are.
My mother is also selfless. Everything she does, she does for others around her. Almost every time there is a charity event at church, my mom donates, no matter what the cause is. She is always in a good mood around everybody, even if, on the inside, she is sad. She substitutes for kindergarten and first grade, and she always tries to make their day happy.
Another reason would be that she is very determined. Everyday, when she gets home, she cooks, cleans, and does the laundry. She always works as hard as she can to make our family happy and to keep our house looking clean. When she is teaching, she always tries to teach to the best of her abilities and tries her hardest to help them learn. Right now she is substituting for someone who is on maternity leave, so she also has to make the lesson plans and she still works very hard doing them.
To me, a hero is someone who puts the lives of others before oneself. To find a hero, you don't have to look very hard because there are many heroes right in front of your eyes. My mother is a loving, selfless, determined, hardworking, and she will
