The nominated individual that best stands out to me as a genius of western culture would have to be Albert Einstein. Einstein’s work and cultural contributions are to be identified in both the age of modernism and the age of pluralism for the 20th century genius award. The following information will include a recap of Einstein's life and times, a survey of talent, and appraisal of Albert's achievements on the culture and arts.

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 187 in Wurttemberg, Germany. Einstein’s parents, Hermann and Pauline Einstein, were non-practicing Jews who resided in Ulm. Being an interested and an enjoyable child, Albert went to a catholic elementary school where he took violin lessons. Even though his mother insisted he take the violin lessons, Einstein later in life became very fond of Mozart’s violin Sonatas. When Albert was five, he became very enthralled with complicated scientific and mathematical concepts. Einstein was so curious about life that when his father, Hermann, introduced him to a pocket compass, Albert realized that something in "empty space controlled the needle." He later describes this as a discovery of his life. Albert's hobbies included building models and mechanical devices for his amusement. Even though Albert demonstrated a high intelligence in mathematical concepts, his parents believed he suffered from a disability; Dyslexia, shyness, and Aspersers Syndrome. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Einstein and Albert moved to Munich, then later, moved to Milan. However, they left Albert behind to finish high school in Munich. Albert was never the best in school due to the learning techniques at that time in Germany. In 1894, Albert became frustrated with the level of education offered in high school in Munich, so he left without finishing joining his family in Pavia, Italy.

In Einstein’s Switzerland years, which happened between 1895 and 1896, Albert enrolled in the Cantonal school to complete his education. At the age of eighteen, Einstein disowns his German citizenships. That is when he enrolled into the Swiss Federal Polytechnic School where he obtained his training as a teacher to practice in physics and mathematics. When Albert was twenty one, 1900, Albert received his diploma, in 1901 he announced his Swiss citizenship. Unable to find a teaching job, he endorsed a position as the Swiss patent office as a technical assistant. In his spare time while working, Einstein achieves his most essential scientific paper. In 1901 to 1902, Albert taught as a school in Schaffhausen, right around the time where he became a father out of wedlock. Mileva gave birth to a baby girl, Lieseri, in Hungary. In 1903, Albert decides to marry Mileva, at that time their daughter was given up for adoption. Since their divorce in 1919, Mileva gave birth to two boys. It is still a mystery today whether or not Mileva was the inspiration that helped solve Einstein’s famous works and ideas.
