Setting up a Home Network

            The above figure resembles my home network we use xfinity(Comcast) as an Internet service provider. It provides a firewall which provides a security between internet server and router firewall limits the users from accessing certain portions of the internet. Routers sometimes have built-in hardware firewalls, can protect computers from incoming hacker attacks. We use a broadband modem from cisco that provides digital signal to my home network we have one personal computer in a network connected by the Ethernet cable to the router. With the help of wireless router the signal is distributed to various devices.

We have two laptops, four mobiles and one iPod and printer all the devices can access the internet through Wi-Fi and every device can use the printer as it has Wi-Fi accessibility and take the prints. If we wants to use printer with the personal computer a wired connection should be established between them laptops differ in the IP address though they are connected to same

Wi-Fi network.

                Laptop1 IP address-10.0.0.4

                Laptop2 IP address - 10.0.0.13

Mobiles phones are connected with Wi-Fi network with unique user id and password for the network security which is the main advantage in wireless network, devices like iPod are used to listen to music online with the help of Wi-Fi access.

                                                  Conclusion  

The main advantage in wireless network connection is mobility as we are students and we are using mobile phones, laptops and many gadgets wireless connection is very useful for us which is effective and less in cost when compared to the wired connection. With the help of    Wi-Fi we can provide secure network access to the friends, which enables them to use the internet and respond to the mails.
