The human is the only animal that makes the same mistake more than once. Sometimes once is enough to change your whole future. For Napoleon Bonaparte the three mistakes that led him to his downfall were, the setting up of Continental System, the attempt of making his brother Joseph the King of Spain, and the invasion of Russia. All these mistakes led to Napoleon's power and dictate to collapse.

The first mistake that Napoleon Bonaparte made was to set up a Continental System. This system was based in the blocking all trade with the British. The UK responded with the Orders in Council of 1807 which forbade the trading of French with the UK or any of its allies. He adopted this system after his failure of invading England, for Napoleon the best way to defeat Britain was to destroy its ability to trade. Britain, as an island, the trading was very important for its economy, and without it it would have a huge economic collapse. Napoleon thought that it would be much easier for his troops to invade Britain after an economic collapse, but the British found a way to keep trading goods. Although British merchants still smuggled the goods with the continental Europe, the price of the food rose. Britain prohibited its trade partners from trading with France, but the British were able to counter the plan by threatening to sink any ship that did not come to a British port or chose to comply with France. This conditions made the economy of neutral nations like United States of America harsh. United States contra counted this problem by approving the Embargo Act of 1807 affecting France in a negative way slowing its trade such as rope-making declined, as many other industries. In a long term, the Continental System affected England, but it affected the French economy more.

Another mistake that caused Napoleon Bonaparte's failure was the attempt of making his brother Joseph King of Spain. After serving for years as a chief in the French government, Joseph was sent to Naples to expel the Bourbon dynasty and proclaimed himself king in 1806. The Spanish were not happy with this Joseph ruling, so they rebelled as a guerrilla. A guerrilla is a group of civilians who gather together to fight, but because they are civilians, they have no uniform, and show at random places were they see the troops are weak. As consequence,
