         The Anatomy of violence presents reliable and accurate information about the inner workings of violent behavior, and provides conclusive evidence about the biological roots of criminal behavior. The sources that the author cites are reputable and easy to verify; however, the author doesn’t solely depend on others; he supports a larger portion his book with his own groundbreaking research. He provides a list of references and a bibliography which add to the accuracy of the book. In short, the book is a reliable source of information regarding the fields of psychology and criminology.  

        Furthermore, the author’s credentials and background gives him authority to write about biological roots of violence. He received his bachelor's degree in experimental psychology from Oxford University, and he received his PhD in psychology from York University. Currently, he is the professor of criminology, psychiatry, and psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, and his research on neurobiological and biosocial causes of violent behavior is consider pioneering.

        Although this book was published in 2013, some of the information it contains is still relevant, and in some cases, some information is timeless and groundbreaking. According to some editorial reviews, the book offers unprecedented information about human violence  

   In general, The Anatomy of violence meets some of my research needs, and it’s an excellent starting point for research on violent behavior. Although Raine’s coverage of his topic is in-depth, his main goal is to sway the reader. However, his input on the subject is still reliable. In conclusion,
