A Man with Commitment
John Savage was a foolish man however; he was very committed to wanting to suffer for humanity. He decided to choose to become a normal person for the rest of his soulful life rather than being perfect. This novel critiques the saying “No one is ever perfect”. As too though he was indeed wise to fight for being normal as a gift, for that it is what their imperfections that make them perfect. It’s those little nuances that make life beautiful and worth living. Love, laugh, live, and to accept who you are. Only then will you be able to endure and soak up the beauty that is life.
To begin with John is foolish for claiming the right to be unhappy, to grow old and ugly as to what Mustapha Mond said at the end of chapter 17. John believed that the” individual is preeminent and has inalienable rights that society must not try to dominate.” No one else agreed with him, because everyone agreed on Mond on how society is preeminent and that the individual can be molded and shaped to best to serve society. It is the concept of mass production to all human society. John was out of his league to even try for as though in the end of the chapter 18, he would whip himself to forget about society. Afterward he decided to sleep with Lenina for purposes to as submitting to the slavery of happiness. He lost his battle with the world state, so he continues on, another individual sacrificed to stability.
Furthermore, he was foolish but yet he was a very wise man for having deep emotion. He was the only one to actually “feel” as being the first in centuries born from a mother. Considerably John use of
physical self-purifying techniques is an effort to instill in himself the discipline to not succumb to
The temptations of promiscuous World State culture. He’s making a noble stand as an
individual.
