College of Accountancy seizes Accountancy Day 2014
August 6 served as a normal day for all, but for the accountancy students, it kicked-off the much awaited Accountancy Day 2014.With the theme “JPIAN’s and me: Blazing the Spirit of Excellence” the college of accountancy fires the OLPCC grounds as they celebrate the Accountancy Day 2014 held, August 6-8, at the OLPCC gymnasium.
The department started the 3 day event by seeking God’s blessing and guidance through a thanksgiving mass held at the OLPCC chapel. It is then followed by various activities which were participated and enjoyed by the students.
Minds are at its best when the students competed in the following academic activities: Accounting Challenge, Math Olympiad and the Literelay on poem writing, slogan and poster-making, and essay writing.
Meanwhile, various non-academic activities were also prepared for them. The audience goes crazy and wild when the participants of the Search for Mr. and Ms. Weirdo invaded the stage. Displaying their weirdest look and personality, the participants made their best efforts to amuse the judges and at the same time take home the crown. The winners of this event were Christian Philip Fortuna, a 4th year student and another 1st year student. Another highly anticipated event is the Accountancy Got Talent wherein different talents from the students were showcased. Jhoemar Infante, a second year student was hailed as the winner for this event.
The highlight of this event is the Amazing Accounting Race. All the 20 teams run around the campus to look for stations and clues. Though tired and wet, they still managed to have fun and gain new memories to remember.
At the end, the group of Fideicomissary was declared as the over-all champion followed by the group of Experts and Trust.
