Solve a Problem Paper
In this paper I will identify four steps in solving a problem with using the creative processes. The stages are searching for challenges which describes that not all trials are clear on how you should make it a practice to look out for challenges that comes your way. Expressing the problem or issue is the second stage that can be different from person to person based on their perspective. Investigating the problem or issue is stage three that express that attaining the required information is very important. Producing ideas is the final stage of the creative process in solving a problem.
Over the course of my career working as a manager for a hospitality company doing valet I have experienced many problems from the hotel guest, employees and upper managers. The most current issue that I am dealing with is having a new direct manager over me that I believe do not know how to manage people. In addition, to not knowing how to manage I have confidence that he is killing moral in the company. The issue at handle is when he speaks he gives people a level of comfort as if whatever the issue that need to be fix will be taken care of for that person. Every manager on my level of position in the company was promise a raise for over five months. I have asked several times in our weekly meeting for an update on the increases. Every other conversation it feels like he was showing me smoking mirrors and I believe I was not getting anywhere on this issue. Going through the steps of creative process is what is my challenge and finding a way to come up with a solution.
Furthermore, I started working on stage two with expressing the problem so I reached out to our upper manager over my boss. I explained that “I am a loyal employee of the company and I have exceeded the expectation and increase bottom line profits”. Following this step I trust that I have made the right decision in trying to express my rate increase with an upper manager of the company. My only concern is that I may not know what the top managers of the company are filtering down to my direct manager to hold our raises.
