When most people think of cyber crime they think of a hacker hacking into their computer and stealing their information, or leaving a virus to destroy or damage their computer in some way.While this may be one form of cyber crime it is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak.

Cyber crime includes many different forms of criminal activity, from illegal and underage pornography toelectronic fraud and theft of financial currencies both real and virtual, and many many more. Any action or set of events put into play by means of digital or virtual execution using tools such ascomputers electronic devices such as phones etc, and services such as the internet, whetherintentional or not that breaks current US or international law in any way, is to me what constitutes cyber crime.

Cyber crime in the United States has grown significantly over the last 10 years as technology has bloomed exponentialy. Every year the cyber crime rate increases more and more, and the extent to which the corruption and criminal activity reaches increases each year right along with it. With every new advent of technology a new form of cyber crime is born. So far, cyber crime has expandedits domain to allow brutal acts of terrorism within our own borders, and has also had a massivelynegative effect on our economy which seems to stem from the rampant theft of not only money and resources that belong to citizens but digital and virtual corporate property such as movies, music, photo's, and other copyrighted material.Controlling cyber crime is not an easy task especially when there are so many technologies availableto the public such as untraceable proxies, masking utilities, and other anonymity services.

To start with, we will need to devise a way to monitor all traffic on the internet and across almost all digital media without encroaching on people's right to privacy, and while simultaneously filtering out unnecessary information, this would help control cyber crime
