First, I would like to introduce the organization chart of Front Office, the highest level of employee is Front Office Manager, and under the Front Office Manager is Assistant Front Office Manager, Chief Concierge, Reception Supervisor, Reservations Manager, Telephone supervisor and Assistant Manager are

Job Description and Specification

Position Title: The Front Office Manager

Report to: General manager

Division: Higher Education

Work location: Hong Kong

Position Summary: As a front office manager, the most important task is to provide the highest quality of service to tourist, and leave a good image to tourist.

Front office manager is responsible for directing all front office employee and ensure all front office work is smoothly completed. Direct, contact and coordinates the activities of the front desk, reservation, bell captain, operator and room controller. And front office manager should prepare budget for front department and monthly report.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

Related work experience.

One year of company experience in a customer service or directing with broad.

Knowledge of company products and service is desirable.

Formal education or equivalent.

Higher Diploma with strong academic performance or work equivalent experience.

Skills.

Must have strong organizational and communication skills. And must be PC proficient.

Primary Responsibilities:

Schedules the front office staff.

Formulate the departmental budget.

Conduct regularly meetings of front office.

Ensure all front office employees wear proper uniform at working hour.

Prepare monthly performance report of front office.

Monitor VIP and take suitable action.

Review the logbook of front office.

Review the feedback from guest.

Contact and cooperate with another department.

Try their best to meet the mission and vision.

Description of the selection interview structure and questions to be arranged for the candidates of the selected post.

In case of interview with a front office manager, I think we will select Unstructured Interview. It is because as a front office manager, should have well ability to adapt, even they have not done any pre-ready, they also can solve the problem smoothly.

About the questions to be arranged for the candidates, I think we should ask more situational question to the candidates, it is because the working environment of a front office manager doesn’t have a fixed pattern. Also, we need to arrange a Stress Interview for the candidates, it is because front office manager should thinking positive, and encourage other employees.
