I’ve Taught Monster
On the text I’ve Taught Monster, the author feature her life as a teacher to the students who are in inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility for adolescents. Her duty is to teach and guide them through the rigors of a classical middle school education, thus ensuring acceptance at the vaunted secondary school of their parents’ choice. The author gave her life to help this student to improve their ability physically and emotionally. She feel happy whenever her students participate well in their class. Helping students slay their worst fears with nothing more than a pencil, plenty of paper, and faith in the power of storytelling.
The text of Lahey is long but interesting to read. The text are half an inch deep, yes, but entirely engaging. The words itself in the text are appropriate to the given sentences. I’m not familiar to the words that she used but I tried to understand it by searching the unfamiliar words in the dictionary. Author used symbolism to add depth and meaning to the text. Her persona is evidently presented in the text and I dearly loves it. The author paints her as an authoritative and manipulative person. This text consume my time because I read it not just twice but thrice. It is all worth It and I admire Lahey for her skillful ability in writing. It certainly says a lot more about the person who wrote it. Lahey motivates and inspired someone especially the teachers who sacrifices their entire life in the teaching profession.
I noticed that there are some words are misspelled, some sentence has a grammatically error, phrases, commas, and period. There are parts that can’t really understand without reading it again and again. Words that she used are difficult for the understanding of the readers. Some parts are boring for the readers because of the long narration in the text. It is hard to understand the text because of the use of deep meaning. I suggest to the author, try to use simple words for us to understand the through meaning of the text and always make it to the point. In overall it is good text and it is really inspirational especially to the teachers and to the students. Because for the teachers, to teach is to touch a life forever.
