Know what your customers want before they do!
1. Good knowledge of your customers can help you. When you got information about, for example the age, income, number of children and the lifestyle of a certain customer. You can easily adapt a product for each customer, which he might be interested in.
The most companies are crafting offers based on where somebody is at that time via social media. The company got information from social media platforms, that information can be useful because he or she could post something on Facebook about a product. That product could be in your store, so you could contact him with an advertisement. There is a big chance he might think: “Well, that’s surprising! I want that product and the store where I just walked by got that product, maybe I should go there!”
Knowing your offer is also very helpful, for example when you sell movies and you know that person liked a movie with Brad Pitt playing in that movie, he might like another movie Brad Pitt played in. These days you see that a lot on the internet, with the cookie protocol. You are shopping at an web shop and you were looking at all kind of products and then you go to another site, it might be you see advertisement with that products. You can connect products to each other, for example: it might be that when somebody rents a movie he buys a bag of popcorn instead. Popcorn and movies are related to each other. It’s important to respond on that kind of information. When somebody buys curry paste and also frequently buy another the product, that products are related to each other for that customer.
Knowing the purchase context is important because you want to advert to a customer when he really wants your product. Otherwise you are losing time and money.
