It can be seen from the first variable that represents a population of Portugal, which is 10,291,196, that the country has a relatively small population when you compare to the other countries in the table. Furthermore, long-term orientation investigates how one all societies maintain some connection to their past while coping with the new and old challenges. Based on their culturable preferences and deep traditional roots it can be assumed that people prefer normative over pragmatic.
Uncertainty avoidance is one of the variables that profoundly represents Portugal as a country. With the score 99 on this dimension, it can be seen that people tend to avoid uncertainty.
Whereas the cost of living in Portugal can be seen as rather medium for the European standards, it can also be very subjective since the country has been having some economic difficulties in the past years. Furthermore, the individualism is extremely low, with a score of 27. This can be based on the assumption that the society cherries strong relationships where everyone takes responsibility for fellow members of his or her group.
Portugal scores 31 in the masculinity variable and is a country where the keyword is the consensus. Competition is highly expected and instead appreciated.
Obesity in Portugal is 20.1% which is a slightly high number for the European standards however the quality of life shows that this is preferably the corresponding number. Lastly, indulgence shows A relatively low score of 33 indicates that Portugal has a culture of control. Societies with a slightly lower score in this dimension tend to cynicism and pessimism.
UNITED KINGDOM
The current population of the United Kingdom is 66,573,504, which makes it equivalent to 0.87% of the total world population. As previously mentioned the long-term orientation stands for the relationship with the ability to come with past actions while dealing with the present one. Therefore, a dominant preference in British culture cannot be determined due to the average score of 51.
