MODULE ON LEADERSHIP

Leadership is the ability to adapt the setting so everyone feels empowered to contribute creatively to solving the problems.

How can leadership be applied in so many different ways? And, what really constitutes being a leader in every one of these situations? The answer is contained in the realization that perhaps the most fundamental characteristic of leadership, and therefore of individuals who are leaders, is personal leadership.

PERSONAL LEADERSHIP

Personal leadership is the ability to direct your own life and to lead yourself in the direction that you would like for your life to take. It is the ability to define what you want out of life and how you are going to get there. These are important qualities in developing leadership, both personally and corporately.

During the module on leadership , i learnt how to be accountable to myself and to others.

In addition to that , i understood that to be a good leader, it is important to develop management skills relating to delegation and feedback. The various differences in my Junior colleagues' abilities, skills, and style are inevitable and must be acknowledged  managed in order to meet workplace demands. This will lead to success in achieving organizational objectives.

LEADERSHIP VALUES

I learnt about the importance of value and how it defines one's character , influences our attitude and behaviour.

Values play a significant role in our leadership style as well as interpersonal  interactions.  Our goals and life purpose are grounded in our values.

MANAGING ONESELF

Under ' Managing Oneself' i was informed on the importance of focusing on my strengths and cultivating a deep understanding of myself.

I learnt how to discover myself in terms of the underlisted ;

1.    My  Non-Negotiable Values :  Understood how to be clear  about your values, be able to articulate them through my actions. To  define my most important core value in every aspect of my life such as  family, financial, social, intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual.  Then choose to honor these values by making them non-negotiable through staunch commitments and actions.

2.   Temperament : discovered that i am a San-Mel(Sanguine Melancholic)and learnt the  various characteristic of each temperament and how to relate with them. It becomes a whole lot easier to deal with people when we understand their various temperaments.

3.    What can I contribute :  Learnt how best to  best enhance my company's performance based on my strengths, work style, and values, how i can  make the greatest contribution to your company's efforts.

4.   Management Style  : If i should focus on the task or the people or both?
