Answer:
Organizational behavior is the study of people at work. It is like an iceberg because both only visually display a small portion of its entirety but have a much larger, hidden portion.
2. Does the importance of knowledge of OB differ based on a manager’s level in the organization? If so, how? If not, why not? Be specific.
Answer:
I do not think the importance of organizational behavior differs among managers because it helps all levels better predict and influence the behavior of their employees. Organizational behavior can help any level manager with the productivity, attendance, turnover, citizenship behavior, satisfaction, and misbehavior of their employees.
3. Clarify how individuals reconcile inconsistencies between attitudes and bahaviors.
Answer:
People’s attitudes and behaviors are not always consistent, but they often try to bridge the gap by changing their perceptions or attitudes. For example, a person may know that they should do something but don’t. He/she compensates for this by legitemizing it in their minds. An individual may also have a certain attitude towards something in particular but then change that attitude when it doesn’t go a certain way.
4. Describe what is meant by the term emotional intelligence. Provide an example of how it’s used in contemporary organizations.
