Research Paper Evaluation and Reflection
- Even though writing section itself took great amount of time, researching part of the paper took the much more duration of time because I had difficulties deciding which events were important and which were not. Also, I spent most period of time on reading books plus taking notes which I consider as researching.
- I consulted with several people for various reasons. For example, I asked my friend, Moran and History Teacher, Mr. Calvin for proof-reading in addition to advisements. I also, asked Mr. Chivan to help me with primary source and a little editing for my paper.
- As I was reading books, I took notes on my note books and Microsoft Word because citation machine such as Noodle Tools gave me hard time on getting things together because sometimes I had problems with logging in and citing. Therefore, I took the easier and quicker ways to do things just simply by using my own notes and computer. To cite my sources, I did use easybib.com, which I was introduced before and had past experiences with it on other subjects
- I think the quality of my sources were pretty in shape because I used books and articles citing them with easybib. I checked the requirements for the paper and got help form Mr. Mick when I came to having trouble with finding primary sources and citing a video. There were no mistakes regarding the use of encyclopedias because it was not used as any of my sources but I did have some mistakes citing books where I forgot to italicize book title.
- As a result of reading OWL Purdue and using easybib, I have correct MLA formatting citations because I have Authors last and first name in front and most of the book or articles title italicized.
- It took me around 14 minutes to complete reading the paper aloud.
- Overall, I’m mostly satisfied with the quality of the paper because the organization of my ideas were in right places and my citations were all completed plus cited on where it belonged. Although my paper was in good shape, I did have some dissatisfactions on regarding some grammar and some citation mistakes such as forgetting to italicize book titles. If I had a second chance, one thing I would do to be satisfied with the paper is that I would add one more paragraph on how Buddha impacted women on extend to the changes it brought giving examples more widely focusing not only in India, but also, throughout Asia.
- To insure the book analysis for Spring Semester to be in higher quality, first I will not procrastinate and start process right way because I felt like I wasted lots of time on my last paper. Secondly, I will ask more people for help and make more people proof-read my paper plus seek for advices to improve and make it better. I will also, relate and connect with my topic all the time rather than getting off topic making sure I’m on track. Lastly, I will take my free times including other activities aside and focus more on my work which would give me enough time for me to make my paper neatly organized as well as put great effort to it.
