The Event
There is an investment opportunity in the energy sector in green and renewable energy as an emerging trend with new innovations. The opportunity arises in this sector as there is a shift in public perception and in government policy toward the negative implications of climate change, resulting in a move away from fossil fuels e.g. coal and “conventional” energy sources and toward more environmentally friendly energy sources e.g. biofuels, ethanol, solar, wind, etc. In particular, renewable energy that does not require an overhaul of the current infrastructure in place is desirable i.e. a new technology that is easily retrofitted to existing infrastructure, and therefore relatively cheap to implement. Solar electricity represents an example of one such renewable energy technology, as panels can easily be fitted into existing households and businesses, feeding electricity directly back to the grid and resulting in an immediate cost benefit to the household/business as they are reimbursed for the electricity they provide. As the manufacturing costs become cheaper and the technology improves and becomes more efficient (and as conventional fuels become more expensive), the need for solar electricity providers will increase in Australia.
The Background
Australia has the luxury of both abundant and diverse renewable energy resources, supported by world-class research, well-regulated energy markets and a strong economy, making it an attractive destination for
