Abstract
Apple Inc is the one of the most admired companies in the world. This is due to its production of high quality products which merge technology and aesthetics. Apple has also surprised the world with its tremendous marketing strategies that makes it one of the highest revenue earners in the world. Apple employs a 3 part philosophy in marketing it product that has lifted it to the status of a market leader it now enjoys. However, behind Apple’s successes, controversies surround it suppliers such as Foxconn and Wintek. Infringements of workers’ rights have been reported in their suppliers’ facilities that have tarnished Apple’s reputation. This has led to customers, the electronic industry and governments questioning whether Apple has done enough to counter these infringements. Is apple able to retain its status as the leader and best marketer following such grave labor issues?
Apple Inc. is an example of an organization in the electronic equipment industry started in 1976; this US based company has evolved to one of the best in the industry. It is the second largest IT Company on globe. It comes third after Samsung and Nokia in the production of mobile phones. Devices manufactured by this company include iPad, mobile device with multiple functions; desktop computers, for example iMac; portable computers, for example Mac Book Pro; digital music and media players. Apple Inc. also develops operating systems for computers and android devices. Apple Inc. is one of the highest earning companies in the world. Apple uses third parties, online stores and its retail stores to market its products. The net sales of Apple Inc. in the year 2011 were approximately $108.2million. This was an increase by 60% of net sales in 2010. Apple Inc. has employed over 73000 people across the world. Apple Inc. is a perfect example of utilization of outsourcing. Majority of Apple Inc. products are manufactured overseas. It is also one of the most admired companies in the world. The past five years has seen Apple’s CSR (Corporate and Social Responsibility) come under scrutiny while its marketing strategies have been excellent (Moorman, 2012).
Apple Inc. website has got Form-10K where it can be accessed by anybody. This is in compliance with SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) directives. Financial data, legal proceeding, Company’s risk factors, organization and business strategy, business conduct policy of Apple are contained in the Form-10K. Apple runs its affairs in an honest manner; employ ethical consideration; and complies fully with all the laws, regulations and rules governing electronic industry in the United States. Apple applies this integrity in all its branches and in every decision making process.
