Apple has its own operating system that it designed as opposed to its competitors which use the same operating system. Since Apple has its own operating system, it allows the firm to make improvements in certain areas of the software. This has allowed Apple to be very flexible in designing new products as well. The firm has differentiated its strategy into different markets and because of the differentiated strategy, it has allowed Apple to generate more profits.

Is the strategy evolving? Apple’s strategy is evolving with the advancement of technology. Apple has been able stay unique by having its own operating system which has allowed them to release updated versions of their products.
2. What are the key elements of Apple’s strategy in computers, personal media players, and smartphones? The key elements of Apple’s strategy in their products are that they from a differentiated strategy. The firm has a vision for each product because the products are from the same software.

Yes and No. Yes because with their own software, they have expanded into different markets and have manufactured different products. No, Apple’s top officials were taking the company in a negative direction for many years and that had driven down profits quite a bit. When Steve Jobs came back on board, he took the company in a positive direction.
