1.1 Background of Top Glove Corporation Bhd

Top Glove is established in the year of 1991, during that time it only owned a factory and three production lines. As time passed, Top Glove has grown by leaps and bounds to be the World’s largest glove manufacturer. Top glove has put in a huge amount of great deal to emphasis on research and development to ensure there are improvements continuously in their product’s quality and the efficiency of its product. Top Glove collaborates closely with the government agencies and ministries to keep itself abreast of the latest development of the rubber research technology and also in order to stay ahead of the curve in the product development.

By now, Top Glove has already earned itself a reputation of being a one-stop glove sourcing centre which offers an extensive and also a complete range of high quality, high value-added and also cost-effective rubber gloves. Top Glove was listed on the Malaysian bourse, Bursa Saham Kuala Lumpur on 27th march 2001 and has demonstrated steady growth with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25% for revenue and 29% for profit after tax over the past 15 years. Slightly more than a year later which was on 16th of May 2002, Top Glove Corporation Berhad’s listing was successfully promoted from the second board to the main market of the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange. Top Glove own a shareholder of RM 1.15 billion with an annual turnover of about RM 2.05 billion as at financial year ended on 31st of august 2011. It is also a component stock of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia ("FBM") Mid 70 Index, FBM Top 100 Index, FBM Emas Index, FBM Emas Syariah Index, FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index and FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index with a market capitalization of RM6.3billion as at 15 June 2016. On 28 June 2016, Top Glove was also listed on the Singapore Exchange.

As at 31 May 2016, it had a shareholder fund of RM1.76 billion with a turnover
