Part 1:
Our product, Solar Window, provide solar energy by spraying an electricity- generating coating on to glass which still providing an unobstructed view. Basically for everyone who wants to collect and save solar power to supply the future utilization, solar window is a solar power generation system that can absorb solar but filter out UV radiation. Unlike our competitors, our product is much better product. Firstly Solar Window can reduce your utility costs, which makes it an affordable alternative to other expensive build in solar panel and solar thermal collector. Secondly, it can save space and have a more attractive outer look. Thirdly, comparing to solar thermal collector and solar panel, Solar Window is more energy efficient, which has higher reflected rate and absorption rate of sunlight. Furthermore, once the company chooses a glass façade on their building, they will consider installing our product. By the way, most of the building use glass façade due to it can add additional value to the building. (200 words limit)

The first evidence that we chose is the solar thermal collector. Solar thermal collector converts sun light energy into heat energy. For example, It heats water from low temperature to high temperature in order to meet the needs of people’s life. There are two kinds of solar thermal collector, one is vacuum tube collectors, and another is flat plate collectors. From the first line chart, we can see an increasing rate of users who installed solar thermal collector in Australia until 2013.Last but not least, the second line chart shows the increasing rate of cost of solar thermal collector. Now we combined these two charts, we conclude that the widely use of the solar power and the solar thermal collector is costly, so we need to find a better way to collect the solar power.

Evidence 2: Solar Panel
Another close substitute of solar window is solar panel. Solar panel uses the light energy which is derived from the sun to produce electrical energy through the photovoltaic effect. Then all the electrical devices will function normally by using the electricity which is generated by the solar panel. As the time plot shown above, there is an increasing trend for the total production of electricity which is generated by the solar energy in Canada. That means solar energy acts an increasingly important role in providing electrical energy. However, the cost of the material used to produce the solar panel is too high and that is why it still cannot be used widely for the public.
