“A great vision without great people is irrelevant. It is essential that employees can achieve the tasks needed to reach the organization needs. This paper will discuss what is the company's mission statement, what is the company's vision statement that role do these have on the way the business operates, do the company's actions seem to align to their vision and mission statements, and how might the mission and vision of the organization affect or guide you as an employee or manager in the company.
FedEx mission statement is the P-S-P philosophy. It stands for People, Service, and Profit. The mission statement is the foundation of the company. Taking care of the employees and they will deliver a superior service demanded by the customers who will reward the company with profitability needed to secure the future of the company.
The vision statement is the Purple Promise. The Purple Promise is “I will make every FedEx experience outstanding”. The Purple Promise is how the company achieve the service portion and the P-S-P philosophy. The employee commitment to deliver the Purple Promise is accomplished by doing whatever it necessary to make every experience outstanding from the customer standpoint and customer satisfaction.
The role of the company plays a huge part in the way the company operates. Without the mission and the vision statement the company would not have a clue of how to conduct business. The way a business operate depends on the mission and the vision.
