Business Model Part 1
Introduction
Innovation is important to all companies on coming up with new ideas that can be beneficial and profitable to the company. The Olin Corporation “has been involved in the United States chlor alkali industry for more than 100 years and are a major participant in the North American chlor alkali market manufacturing. (Olin, 2015)” Making and coming up with new products for their customers is what can keep Olin Corporation on top of its selective market industry. With a company like Olin we need something new and inventive to not only keep them on the market but to also keep the Olin Corporation profitable but it also lets the consumers knew that they are thinking of new ways to keep them happy and also being a helpful tool.
New Product
Olin Corporation deals in bleach products and help manufacture different products that deal in bleach. A great new innovation product that would go great for Olin Corporation and all that they stand for would be dry bleach. In that meaning of dry bleach something that has the same cleaning power same effect as liquid bleach but it’s a powder. There are so many different products out there that say they have the same power as bleach but it is not bleach. For most people they do not seem to get the clothes the whites. The best part of the powder bleach is when you accidently spill it on your colored clothes you can just wipe it away. The product would be something most any moms would love to have in their own homes. Being able to wash clothes without having to worry about it running your clothes if poured directly on them would be a reason why most people would buy this new product. This is a different product because it can be used like regular bleach meaning it can be added to laundry with regular laundry detergent in the sense of being poured on top of clothes directly. Most people who use bleach for the first time make the mistake of pouring the bleach on clothes and ruining them. With this product it can be added to powder detergents and boost the cleaning power of the detergent.
Customer needs and advantage
Powdered bleach brings a customer need to a level that they did not even know that was needed. As a consumer customers did not know they could have the option of having powdered bleach because it has yet to be invented. So with that being stated it gives our corporation the competitive advantage because it has yet to be invented. It might sound so simple to offer powdered bleach and it just make a profit automatically, but it truly can. Think of all the clothes that people have ruined all the rugs and carpets that have been ruined when someone has just poured straight bleach on to it. With the powder option when it is spilled on a rug or carpet it can be just vacuumed up. Same with when spilt on hard floors it can be easily cleaned up with a broom. It sounds like the advertising is mainly going towards how is it cleans up, but what you are also showing is that it still offers the same cleaning power as the liquid, and that right there is what customers need an easy way to deal with accidents but a powerful way to clean with.
