Assessment Weighting: 25%                        Mark Value: / 35

Date: Week 8, 2014.2

Instructions to Students

  • A hard copy of your Presentation and your Process Diary MUST BE HANDED IN NO LATER THAN 30 MINUTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSON in Week 8, 2014.1

  • The UWS College Assignment Cover Sheet MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE FRONT OF YOUR ASSIGNMENT
  • YOUR WORK MUST BE REFERENCED CORRECTLY

OVERVIEW

Students are to work individually. You are to make a presentation to the class using any type of presentation method. The presentation should not just be read. It should show depth of understanding of the topic of marketing which you will need to research on your own. This can be done by using a variety of sources including library texts, marketing journals and the internet in addition to your primary research. Presentations must be no longer than 10 minutes and not shorter than 5 minutes.

THE TASK

Students must visit a small business owner whom you will inform that you are a UWS College student conducting research on marketing.

Each student must approach a different business. You are to advise your teacher of the name and contact person of the business you choose before the due date.

  • A hard copy of your presentation must be handed in to your lecturer at the beginning of the lesson in Week 8, 2014.2

  • The order of presenters will be determined by ballot.
  • A Process Diary must also be handed in at the beginning of the lesson in Week 8, 2014.2

Begin planning your research and preparing as soon as you receive this notification/instruction. Failure of equipment such as computers, printers and photocopiers (or queues for their use) will not be considered a reasonable excuse for lateness to class or non submission. If you are not ready to present at the beginning of the lesson on the day, you will still be required to present with whatever material you have.
